Breymer, the artistic moniker of Sarah Walk, is a singer-songwriter and producer known for their rich instrumentation, standout vocals, and raw, poetic lyricism. They first gained recognition with a series of intimate, piano-driven albums exploring queerness, vulnerability, and personal growth.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, whose alumni include St. Vincent, Aimee Mann, and Melissa Etheridge, Walk emerged with their debut ‘Little Black Book’ in 2017, produced by Steve Brown (Laura Mvula). They followed it with ‘Another Me’ in 2020, co-produced with Leo Abrahams (Regina Spektor, Belle and Sebastian, Brian Eno), which expanded their sonic palette while addressing themes of gender, power, and survival in a patriarchal world.
In 2024, Breymer released their most personal work to date, ‘When I Get Through’, via One Little Independent Records. Produced by Grammy-winning Tyler Chester, the album is a strikingly honest exploration of identity and transformation, detailing Walk’s experience undergoing top surgery, from the decision-making process through to emotional recovery. With layered textures, cinematic production, and lyrical clarity, ‘When I Get Through’ reflects a bold evolution in sound and self. It’s a deeply introspective and transformative body of work, underscoring Breymer’s ability to translate lived experience into art that is universally resonant.
Walk has spent much of their career between Los Angeles and London, collaborating with a wide range of artists and producers. In 2023, Breymer appeared on the Apple Original drama The Buccaneers soundtrack, contributing a standout track in collaboration with Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa. The series also featured artists like Sharon Van Etten, Miya Folick, Gracie Abrams, and AVAWAVES. As a songwriter, Walk has credits with Charlie Puth, Arcades (BTS), Leo Abrahams, Louise Bartle (Bloc Party), Pete Nappi (Jon Batiste, The Jonas Brothers, Gayle), and Mozgawa, among others.
