Emilíana Torrini (born 16 May 1977) is an Icelandic singer and songwriter. After being discovered singing in a restaurant in Iceland by Derek Birkett, the owner of One Little Independent Records, in the mid-nineties, Emilíana was asked to visit London to record a song. Her 1999 album “Love In The Time Of Science” which included the singles “To Be Free”, “Unemployed In Summertime” and “Easy”, was the result of this signing.

Other career landmarks include her 2009 single “Jungle Drum” and her chilling performance of “Gollum’s Song” for the soundtrack of Peter Jackson’s 2002 adaptation of “The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers”.
