James Levy began life as a solo artist performing on the Lower East Village circuit alongside the then-burgeoning anti-folk movement. He decided to form a band and gathered three other players to collaborate with, under the name Levy. The group's line up was completed by Matthew Siskin on guitar, James Broughel on bass and Mike Jones on drums. They released their debut album Rotten Love on OLI in 2005, followed by Glorious in 2007, and have played with the likes of Adam Green, Athlete, Razorlight and The Zutons.
