Ásgeir has announced a tenth anniversary edition of his record-breaking debut, 'Dýrð í dauðaþögn', out October 28th on One Little Indpendent Records. The limited-edition double vinyl release contains bonus tracks including a never before heard Icelandic version of 'Dreaming', 'Frá mér til ykkar'.
Of the reissue Ásgeir said; "I know this album means a lot to some people and I'm happy to be celebrating its 10th anniversary. I remember knocking on the door of a studio with demo CD and giving it to Guðmundur Kristinn Jónsson who then called me the next day and wanted to try recording one song. That was the beginning of the making of this album that then took us, me and the band, many times around the world."
'Dýrð í dauðaþögn' was recorded in in the summer of 2012. As has become traditional, much of the album was inspired by the writing of Ásgeir's father, celebrated poet Einar Georg Einarsson. The album reached number 1 in Iceland where it has since been awarded triple platinum certification. It became the best-selling debut album of all time in Iceland. It is also reported to be owned by one in every ten people in the country.
