Operating under the alias Chocolate Genius Incorporated is Panama-born, New York-based singer-songwriter Marc Anthony Thompson, who has composed film scores as well as creating standalone albums. Having released two records under his birth name in the 80s, Thompson adopted his moniker in the late 90s and received a 9.0 score from Pitchfork for 'Black Music', the first LP to be released under the new name. With a decade-spanning career, he has continued to present a free spirit that refuses to be pigeonholed as either rock, soul, folk or jazz, Swansongs, his fourth album as Chocolate Genius was released in August 2010 and completes the triptych begun on 'Black Music' back in 1998.
